Department of Medical Genetics

The Department of Medical Genetics (DMG) of the Jihlava Hospital deals with the human genome and its disorders with regard to their medical consequences, i.e. congenital or hereditary defects and diseases.

We focus on counseling and providing genetic analysis for patients and families with:

• hereditary oncological, neurological, skin, endocrinological, nephrological diseases, perceptual non-syndromic deafness and other groups of hereditary diseases from most medical fields.

We offer genetic counselling to provide all relevant information about the disease, by explaining the results of genetic tests, discussing the cause of the disease, treatment and prevention options, determining the type of inheritance and determining the risk of recurrence of the disease in offspring and in the family.
